ROUTE HIGHLIGHTS
We always put the coast in Coastrek and this route doesn’t disappoint– golden sandy beaches, breathtaking ocean views and natural landscapes are in, busy roads and concrete jungles are out! You’ll hike along iconic Noosa, Sunshine and Coolum beaches, around stunning Point Arkwright headland and through the lush greenery of Twin Waters with expansive ocean views to enjoy throughout your journey.
Choose to hike 50km from Noosa, 30km from Peregian or 20km from Marcoola, crossing the Finish Line on Mooloolaba Beach and experience the picture-perfect scenery of the Sunshine Coast. The longer you hike, the more you’ll see!

TERRIFIC 20KM
20km route - Setting off from Marcoola Beach, 20km trekkers will start their journey with a cool 3.3km sand walk to Mudjimba, before wandering through the lush greenery of Twin Waters. Cross the Maroochy River to join the Bradman Avenue Foreshore Trail, leading you to the Ken Neil Bridge.
From there, follow the path over the bridge towards Maroochydore, and take a well-deserved break at the Maroochydore Luv Stop. The final stretch meanders along the Coastal Pathway through Cotton Tree and Alexandra Headland, with a few more sand sections at Maroochydore Beach and Mooloolaba Beach. Step off the sand for the last time as you finish triumphantly at Pirate Ship Park, Mooloolaba. You did it!
THRILLING 30KM
30km route - Setting off from Peregian Beach, 30km trekkers will start just after sunrise with a beautiful 5.5km sand trek through to Coolum Surf Club. We’ll keep an eye on Stumers Creek conditions, but we recommend packing an extra pair of socks, just in case you get your shoesies wet!
Continue on the scenic Coolum Coastal Boardwalk and Foreshore Trail to Point Arkwright, one of the Sunshine Coast’s most spectacular headlands. Take in the panoramic views before hopping back onto the firm-packed sand at Yaroomba for a 2.1km stretch.
Exit the beach to join the Coastal Pathway boardwalk for 2.1km, then take a break and refuel at the Marcoola Luv Stop. Have a snack, shake out your shoes, and get ready for the next leg of your adventure!

FABULOUS 50KM
50km route - Starting from Noosa Woods, our fearless 50km trekkers begin their adventure at sunrise with a beautiful flat stroll through the Noosa Spit Recreation Reserve. The journey continues as you hit 1.2km of stunning, sun-soaked sand along Noosa Main Beach. After soaking up the views, wind through the streets of Noosa for the next 4km to reach Sunshine Beach. Here, you’ll enjoy a 1.7km stretch of sand before exiting at Sunrise Beach to connect with the Coastal Pathway.
Passing through Castaways Beach, you’ll traverse the leafy boardwalk and trails before rejoining the beach for a glorious 4.2km sandy walk to Peregian, your first Luv Stop, ready to refresh and recharge!
As 50km trekkers, only you get to experience this morning’s hike between Noosa and Peregian Beach, seeing this special part of the coast in all its glory – well done!
From Peregian Beach, set off on a 5.5km sand trek through to Coolum Surf Club. We’ll keep an eye on Stumers Creek conditions, but we recommend packing some plastic shopping bags – they make excellent temporary protection to keep your feet dry, and also pack a spare pair of socks, just in case you get your shoesies wet!

As we are immersed in nature, however, there may sometimes be circumstances beyond our control (tides, fallen trees/branches, other safety aspects as advised by local councils) that require us to slightly alter the route. In any such cases these will be clearly marked and identified on event day.
