First-time trekker or seasoned pro? Here's a sneak peek at some must-see highlights along our brand-new route!
Sunrise Over Middle Head Lawn - A Magical Start
If you’re tackling the 50km route, your Coastrek adventure kicks off at Middle Head Lawn, where (fingers crossed for clear skies!) the first light of day paints the harbour in dreamy pinks and golds. You’ll set off south along the newly opened 3km track linking Middle Head and Georges Heights – a stunning new connection with legendary scenery and fascinating military history. Be among the first to experience it! As you weave through the bushland, keep an ear out for cheeky wildlife calls – especially as you pass the iconic Taronga Zoo (maybe the seals will even cheer you on!).
Milson Park – The Ultimate Harbour View Pit Stop
At the 13.5km mark, it’s time for a well-earned break at our Luv Stop – and you’re in for a treat! As you pass through Milson Park, soak in Sydney’s most iconic landmarks: the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. This is THE selfie spot of the trek, so grab your team and strike a victory pose! After crossing the Harbour Bridge and following the waterfront, you’ll have the harbour glistening on your left and the Royal Botanic Gardens on your right. When you round Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, take a look back at where you started this morning – how far you’ve come already! Take it one milestone at a time - one park, one lookout, one Luv Stop.
Rushcutters Bay – A Hidden Oasis in the City
After winding through Wooloomooloo and Elizabeth Bay, you’ll reach the peaceful green haven of Rushcutters Bay – a shimmering stretch of water surrounded by lush parklands. If this is your 30km start line, WOOHOO – it’s go time! As you head through Darling Point, Double Bay, and Rose Bay, enjoy the ultimate distraction – drool-worthy multi-million-dollar real estate. (Go on, pick your dream mansion – we all do it!). Feel your feet hitting the ground, listen to the waves lapping the shore, and stay present. And when the fatigue kicks in? Crank up the tunes, smash another lolly, and keep striding forward!
Nielsen Park – A Beachside Boost
Whether you’re pausing at Nielsen Park for a Luv Stop or launching your 20km adventure from here, soak up the magic of this harbourside gem. Freshly reopened, this is one of Sydney’s most beloved beaches, wrapped in towering fig trees and sparkling water views. Refuel, rehydrate and stretch before taking on one of the most Instagrammable spots of the trek – the stunning Parsley Bay Suspension Bridge. As you cross the glistening bay below, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the Amalfi Coast (seriously, it’s that dreamy!). Take a deep breath, high-five your teammates, and get pumped for the next stretch!
Dover Heights – Where the Ocean Meets the Sky
Inside the final 10km, Mother Nature puts on her most dramatic show and the ocean takes centre stage. As you journey through Dover Heights, prepare to be wowed by towering cliffs and endless blue horizons (weather gods permitting!). This stretch is one of the biggest highlights of Coastrek, serving up jaw-dropping ocean views that make every step worth it. Sure, the clifftop climbs will burn a little (OK, a lot), but let the crashing waves, salty breeze and bestie banter fuel your final push. Need a mantra? Try: “I am strong. I am unstoppable. I GOT THIS!”.
Coogee Beach – Your Victory Awaits!
No matter the distance - 50km, 30km or 20km, you'll cross the finish line at Goldstein Reserve in Coogee, greeted by the salty sea breeze, a cheering crowd and the ultimate post-hike vibes! Our Woohoo Tent will be waiting, stocked with refreshments, high-fives and that sweet, sweet feeling of accomplishment.
You didn’t just hike, you conquered, you connected, and you made a difference. Wear that Coastrek medal with pride – YOU EARNED IT! Now go celebrate like the superstar you are!
